I-Saw repeat pattern design motifs have been carefully hand engraved, with such precision that without inside information most assume them to be laser etched. Each pair is a uniquely crafted one-off, where two pairs carry the same artwork and placement they will still be distinct in sizing and positioning of the elements which make up the design. I-Saw were commissioned by Nike to create 3 pairs of custom Air Max 1's for inclusion in 2006's "FESTIVAL OF AIR" exhibition showcase at Nike Town, London. Taking the original year of release, 1987, as the theme, through which to pay homage to 3 of the most important debut releases in the history of Hip Hop recordings, also released in that same year. Drawing on the photography and typography of the LP cover artworks for the applied embellishments. THE BOOGIE DOWN PRODUCTIONS- CRIMINAL MINDED EDITION shows the front and back cover images of KRS One & Scott La Rock from their seminal album "Criminal Minded", rendered in black ink on the outside surfaces of this white leather pair of Nike Air Max 1's. With the album title across the right toe and Boogie Down Productions across the left toe. The delicate nature of these applications and the attention to detail was aimed at creating stunning cabinet showpieces and these 3 pairs are sold as works of art, for the serious collector and not intended for daily wear. I-Saw were commissioned by Nike to create 3 pairs of custom Air Max 1's for inclusion in 2006's "FESTIVAL OF AIR" exhibition showcase at Nike Town, London. Taking the original year of release, 1987, as the theme, through which to pay homage to 3 of the most important debut releases in the history of Hip Hop recordings, also released in that same year. Drawing on the photography and typography of the LP cover artworks for the applied embellishments. THE PUBLIC ENEMY- YO! BUMRUSH THE SHOW EDITION shows the iconic darkly lit room photo from the cover of the groundbreaking "Yo! Bumrush The Show" LP sleeve, on the outside of the left shoe, highlighted in white paint pen on black newbuck. The right shoe has the famous Public Enemy stencil style lettering and sniper target logo, the album title lettering and the continuous message, "the government's responsible" around the sole. Finished off with the addition of an I-saw logo on the toe on the right toe. The delicate nature of these applications and the attention to detail was aimed at creating stunning cabinet showpieces and these 3 pairs are sold as works of art, for the serious collector and not intended for daily wear. Taking the original year of release, 1987, as the theme, through which to pay homage to 3 of the most important debut releases in the history of Hip Hop recordings, also released in that same year. Drawing on the photography and typography of the LP cover artworks for the applied embellishments. THE ERIC B & RAKIM- PAID IN FULL EDITION features black ink portraiture of the MC/ DJ duo, taken from the photograph that graced the front cover of their debut release, "Paid In Full", on the outside of the left shoe, with an I-Saw logo at the top of the heel panel. The right shoe carries a black inkwork illustration of " the original bling image", the famous medallion rope chains, dollars & cheques shot, from the back cover, with the addition of an I-Saw logo and "Chum101" tag signature on the heel panel. The right toe is emblazoned with the album title typography and the left with Eric B & Rakim, all in the LP's "rubber stamp" style typeface. The delicate nature of these applications and the attention to detail was aimed at creating stunning cabinet showpieces and these 3 pairs are sold as works of art, for the serious collector and not intended for daily wear.
